My Baby Must-Haves!

In the days leading up to having my baby, I scrambled around the internet researching any and everything I could think of so that I was 100% prepared for my baby girl coming home!

It honestly seems like it’ll never end. Everyone has a different opinion on what you absolutely CAN’T live without. Well, there’s the obvious diapers, wipes, and clothes, but as a not-so-seasoned veteran, I just thought I’d let you know a couple of things I think you might want to consider!

boppy pillow

The Boppy Pillow – $40

One of my FAVORITE things while breastfeeding! Six pounds five ounces doesn’t sound like much until you’re holding it for an hour straight with no sleep. Trust me it’s no bueno…

UBBI Diaper Pail – $80

You gotta have something to throw those diapers in, right? And like me you probably don’t want to have to pay an arm and a leg for your baby to take a dump. If you don’t mind paying more up front to not have to shell out the big buck’s later, then this is the diaper pail for you! The other diaper pails, like the oh-so-popular Diaper Genie, usually come with special bags you have to buy that are expensive in and of themselves. Not to mention they often don’t work the way they’re supposed to, leaving you smelling stale baby crap all day. This pail uses regular garbage can bags and seals the smell in so well I forget it’s there half the time!

 4MOMs MamaRoo – $199.99

A life saver. When I tell you my baby girl was sleeping almost double the time once we tried this thing! It’s got five different motions it can do and emulates the way it feels when you’re rocking your baby! It also has white noise built into it and you can control it from anywhere in the house using the app on your phone. (Believe me i’ve tried it!) It was honestly the only thing she would comfortably sleep in. We actually bought ours used for $100, so I would definitely say to check out your local craigslist or Facebook marketplace to see if you can score one! It’s definitely a bit of a sticker shock!

diaper caddy

Diaper Caddy – $10-$30

I don’t care what anyone says, you will change your baby on any and every surface around your home! Who has time for a changing table God knows where when you’ve got an emergency poopsplosion on your hands in the kitchen! I carry this thing everywhere with me, and keep my nail clippers, diapers, wipes, diaper rash ointment, and baby lotion in it! It’s the most convenient thing in the world!

I hope that this list helped a bit in trying to navigate the world that is baby gear!

Be strong mamas!

  1. Love this. My sister-in-law is expecting our first niece or nephew this summer. Great ideas for gifts for her that will actually be useful as more than just collecting dust.

  2. We bought so many things for our first child (including that annoying Diaper Genie) and when our second came along, most of these things were completely forgotten. I always have tons of pillows lying around so nursing was never an issue. But I completely understand how that little baby head gets heavy in the middle of the night after an hour 🙂 Thanks for sharing this!

    1. Oh my God, the diaper genie is the WORST! I definitely have to agree with you too now that I’m on my second! You don’t need most of these things!
